Jewel drives a delivery van around Gazipur’s industrial zone, and his lunch break is exactly forty minutes. He spends ten of them eating, ten chatting with the other drivers and the last twenty in a shared ocean with three of them, firing railguns at an enormous crocodile that refuses to stay down. The drivers have a running scoreboard on the van’s dashboard, written in marker pen.
That shared ocean belongs to Mega Fishing, a JILI title released in October 2021. It packs the familiar fish-shooting formula with heavy weapons, bosses that cannot die, a crocodile that comes back to life and an octopus that spins one of the most valuable wheels in the genre. This review explains each part and how to keep the action under control.
The Basics
You control a cannon in a room shared by up to four players. Each shot costs your chosen stake, and catching a creature pays your stake multiplied by its value.
Regular fish pay between 2x and 8x, larger fish between 10x and 25x and giant fish between 100x and 175x. Bosses and special creatures sit on top of that structure with their own rewards.
Return to Player and Maximum Win
Mega Fishing is listed with a return to player of 97 percent, though its information notes that the way you play affects the theoretical return. Careful target selection matters more here than in most shooters.
The maximum win is 950 times your stake, reachable through the Golden Wheel described below.
Difficulty Levels
The game offers three difficulty levels, each with different stakes and atmospheres. Beginners should start at the lowest level until they understand the creatures and weapons.
Jewel and his colleagues play the middle level, which they say gives the best balance between cost and excitement.
Graphics and Feel
Mega Fishing has a deep-sea look, with glowing coral, shafts of light and creatures that react dramatically when hit. Weapons feel weighty, with railgun beams and thunderbolt flashes that light up the whole screen.
On older phones, lowering the graphics setting keeps everything smooth, which matters when a boss appears and every shot counts.
The Weapon Rack
Mega Fishing gives you more firepower than most fishing games, but every heavy weapon has a price. Knowing when each one is worth its cost is the key skill.
Torpedoes cost six times your stake per shot, railguns fifteen times and thunderbolts twenty-five times.
Torpedoes
Torpedoes hit hard and suit medium and large targets that are taking too many regular shots. They are the most affordable heavy option.
Use them when a valuable creature is close and moving slowly, rather than on fish that are about to leave the screen.
Railguns and Chain Lightning
The railgun fires a powerful beam, and after a kill it can trigger chain lightning that jumps to nearby fish. On a crowded screen, a single railgun shot can collect several rewards.
Because each shot costs fifteen times your stake, save it for moments when fish are packed together.
Thunderbolts and the Free Meter
Thunderbolts are the most expensive weapon, designed for clearing large areas. More importantly, every regular shot fills an energy meter that eventually unlocks a free thunderbolt.
That free blast is the best tool in Mega Fishing. Many players time it for a screen full of valuable creatures.
Special Creatures
In Mega Fishing, several creatures trigger effects when caught. The starfish creates a vortex that may award extra prizes, the bomb crab drops three explosive bombs and the drill crab releases a drill that targets other fish before exploding.
These creatures are excellent value on a busy screen, because their effects can sweep up several targets at once.
Combining Effects and Weapons
The most satisfying Mega Fishing moments come from combining tools. A railgun kill that triggers chain lightning next to a bomb crab can set off a cascade of rewards across the screen.
Watching for those clusters, rather than firing randomly, is what separates experienced players from beginners.
Bosses That Change the Game
Mega Fishing has two kinds of bosses, and they behave very differently. Understanding them stops you from wasting ammunition.
The difference is simple: some bosses can never be caught and pay as long as they stay, while one can be caught and then fights back.
Immortal Bosses
The giant shark, the giant purple anglerfish and the mega gem turtle are immortal. They cannot be killed, but every hit while they remain on screen can pay a prize, until they swim away.
Following an immortal boss with steady, affordable shots is often more rewarding than chasing it with expensive weapons.
The Awakened Crocodile
The gem-backed crocodile can be killed, but it reawakens and attacks other fish around it. That second phase often collects extra rewards for whoever caught it.
Jewel’s van crew call it “the comeback king”, and catching it is the highlight of most lunch breaks.
The Mega Octopus and the Golden Wheel
In Mega Fishing, catching the giant octopus grants a wheel spin. The standard wheel pays up to 200 times your stake, but sometimes the Golden Wheel appears instead, paying between 500x and 950x.
That Golden Wheel is the biggest moment in Mega Fishing. It is rare, but the whole room tends to cheer when it lands.
Chasing the Octopus Sensibly
Because the octopus is so valuable, everyone in the room aims at it. Remember that only the final hit collects the reward.
If your balance is running low, let it pass. Another will appear later. Patience costs absolutely nothing here.
Smart Ammo Habits
Before each Mega Fishing session, Jewel decides exactly how much ammunition he will buy, and when it runs out, the game closes, even if the octopus is swimming past at that very moment.
Run the cannon on a low setting for the small fry and only crank it up for creatures worth the extra cost. Firing heavy weapons nonstop empties a balance faster than almost anything else in the lobby.
Playing With Friends
Shared rooms make the game social. Agree on simple rules, such as no topping up during a session, so the fun stays light for everyone.
Jewel’s crew has one rule: whoever runs out first buys tea for the others the next day.
Clearing Up Myths
A room does not become generous after a quiet period, and a boss that has absorbed many shots is not about to fall. The game settles every bullet independently.
Switching rooms or devices does not change your chances.
Play Within Your Means
This is an adult game for players eighteen or older, and local rules always come first. Keep fishing money separate from money needed for daily life.
Once a session stops feeling like fun, put the phone down. Spending caps and a self-exclusion option wait in your profile whenever you need them.
Where to Play
Mega Fishing is available in the fishing lobby at MCW, with all three difficulty levels, stakes in taka and top-ups through bKash, Nagad or Rocket.
Gather a few friends, charge your free thunderbolt and keep an eye out for the octopus. When you are ready, open the lobby at MCW and dive in.
